GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Benchmarks & Pictures: Slightly better than GTX1070?

In another round of leaks about the up and coming GeForce GTX 1660 Ti there have been numerous product photos and benchmarks leaked. Dependant on price this is shaping up to be a decent card, albeit somewhat predicable in performance.

The leaked benchmarks come from the Final Fantasy XV benchmarking database, delivering a score that’s higher than the Geforce GTX 1070 and Radeon RX Vega in the game’s official benchmark charts.

This benchmark result was first discovered by TUM_APISAK on Twitter.

With a score of 5000 points, which is just 52 points below the 980 Ti and 283 points below the Radeon VII. This is easily a GTX 1070 replacement considering the GTX 1070 Ti is still 627 points further ahead while the GTX 1080 is a full 1174 points ahead.

I personally use the GTX 1070 and it has been a solid card offering superb performance at a good price point (when I bought it). Depending on how NVIDIA prices the 1660 Ti this could be the new crowd favourite considering it offers very decent performance. Initial report suggests this will cost $279, or £216 based on current rates, the accuracy of this informaiton is unknown at the moment, so take it with a pinch of salt.

Recent reports indicate that the RTX models have had poor sales, which is perhaps not surprising due to their price. So it is possible that Nvidia will price this competitively to achieve to additional sales.

The GTX 1660 Ti is the same board number as the RTX 2060 means that we are probably looking at the tensor and RTX cores disabled via hardware straps. It is also worth noting that a 3GB version of the GTX 1660 is also being planned – with 3GB of GDDR5 memory and 4000 MHz clocks. It is also believed that a GeForce GTX 1650 is in the works with a price point of around $180 with a planned launch of late March.

In other leaks, Videocardz has managed to gain access to images of Gigabyte’s upcoming GTX 1660 Ti Windforce OC,
